Uno de los mejores padrillos de la Holsteiner Verband, hijo de Caletto II, abuelo materno Metellus, pertenece a la familia 826.

Caretino reveló sus calidades en la prueba de padrillos, donde recibió un índice en salto de 145 puntos. Ganó numerosas pruebas de caballos jóvenes, debido a su excepcional técnica de salto. Con 5 y 6 años, Caretino participó en el Bundeschampionate montado por Thomas Schoning. Bo Kristoffersen lo montó un año más tarde y lo inició en el nivel de los Grandes Premios y Copa de Naciones.

Caretino produjo 37 hijos aprobados como padrillos en la cría de Holsteiner, 41 hijas fueron State Premium, 10 fueron Verband Premium , Casall La Silla, Cristallo, Chica Way, Carpaccio, son algunos destacados.
