2000 born Nekton is of special importance in the Holsteiner breeding programme not only because of his sire Nimmerdor. His dam line is of special interest as well, as it traces back to a highly successful Dithmarschen mare family through the infl uential mares Legende and Viola.
Legende is out of Viola by Caletto II, and a full sister to the licensed stallion Casado. Viola is none other than the dam to Dobel's Cento, under Otto Becker one of the best and most successful jumping stallions in international warmblood breeding: team gold at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, a team gold medal disallowed through no fault of his own at the Athens Olympics in 2004, winner of the world cup fi nal in 2002, winner of the Calgary and Aachen Grand Prix - this stallion has earned well over one million euros.

Nekton's sire, the Dutch bred stallion Nimmerdor by Holsteiner stallion Farn out of a KWPN mare by TB sire Koridon, ranks among the best European warmblood sires. Nimmerdor was successfully shown at international level by Albert Voorn. They were highly placed in numerous world cups,
and delivered a brilliant performance at the Berlin, Paris, Gothenburg, Dortmund and London horse shows. He has had a dominating infl uence on Dutch jump horse breeding with more than 30 licensed sons. For years, Nimmerdor had the highest jumping index of all Dutch-bred stallions.
But his genes are also much appreciated by other breeding programmes all over the world.

With a jumping index at 143 points, Nekton topped the ranking at the Adelheidsdorf stallion performance testing. During his fi rst competition season he won young jumper classes at A and L level with Tina Vesterlund, took 4th place in the 5-year-old Holsteiner jumper state championship
in Elmshorn and qualifi ed for the Warendorf Bundeschampionat. When Lars Bak Andersen got the ride on Nekton in 2006, he qualifi ed for the Bundeschampionat again. At 7- and 8-year-old, he already won jumper classes at S* level, in 2009 he won at S** and was highly placed at S*** level.

The 2010 season saw him sidelined by injury. In 2011, Nekton was slowly produced for competition again and placed at the Dobrock under Lars Bak Andersen in August already. In 2012, he put up an outstanding performance at S* level and won two classes. At the end of this impressive
season, Nekton was retired as a competition horse.

Nekton was frequently used already as a young stallion and has sired outstanding foal crops. His son Nerrado, a non-licensed colt out of a Corrado I-Aldan daughter was knocked down at 100.000 euros at the Neumünster auction in 2007. In 2008, Nektos by Nekton was stallion graded with
premium marks. Nekton has already sired 11 state premium daughters and six licensed sons, one of them Nektorio which sold at 71.000 euros in the 2013 auction. At the time being, 2004 born Nazario is the most successful Nekton offspring. Under his rider Michael Kölz he has won jumping
classes at national S level and been placed at international S level.

Abuelo materno: ACORADO I

Acorado I es un hijo de Acord II en una yegua Corrado-I-Ramiro de la línea 776, que ha sido aprobada en Holstein por numerosos padrillos aprobados, como Ramiro, Calvados I y II, Lord Incipit, Cortino I y II, Highvalley, Cilantro, Landos, Lauritz J, Lordanos, Louis, My Lord y Rocco en comunes.

 Acorado I era un padrillo que ganó la aprobación de padrillos en Adelheidsdorf con la máxima puntuación en saltos. En 1999 y 2000 fue un participante exitoso en la final del Bundeschampionat después de victorias  en pruebas de salto de obstáculos. En 2003 tuvo su primera temporada de torneos internacionales con Torben Köhlbrandt  en la Copa de Naciones y victorias en el Gran Premio de Breitenburg y Elmenlohe. Desafortunadamente, el semental murió a principios de 2004. Hasta ahora, 25 hijos han sido aprobados. Sus numerosos descendientes son muy prometedores en el deporte.

Acorado obtuvo 10  en saltos en sus aprobaciones iniciales donde fue campeón. Luego ganó su prueba de 100 días en Alemania con un asombroso 149 en saltos y 127 en adiestramiento, lo que lo ubica entre los mejores del mundo. Al año siguiente ganó el Bundeschampionade a los cinco años y se colocó entre los cinco primeros en el Campeonato de 6 años. Estaba destinado a convertirse en una leyenda de salto cuando murió inesperadamente a los siete años. Pero Acorado, que estaba en Stall Hell junto a su padre Acord II y su compañero de establo Calido I, sigue siendo hoy uno de los mejores productores de caballos en la historia del deporte.
