It was through Kathy Kusner (unforgetable rider especially with the XX Intouchable), contacted by my friend Robina Bouffaut, at the time President of NASHA, that I heard talk of in the springtime of 91, a magnificent dark brown thoroughbred stallion who had just been classed in a World Cup final in California . Some months later, I heard that the horse was for sale and so I jumped into an aeroplane to see him compete at Del Mar. As soon as I opened his stable door I was bowled over by HAND IN GLOVE and when I climbed aboard ,it felt like I was driving a Ferrari .
Just to be sure, I went to look at the other stallions that I had been told about, but in my mind the dice had already been rolled. Then I went back to see the stallion at his home in Petaluma and to see some of his products, where I met a French Vet who carried out the necessary tests before I could give the green light to my banker and finalise the deal. There was still the quarantine to wait for and then finally in Décember HAND IN GLOVE landed on French soil accompanied by his former owner John Charlebois . As soon as he arrived, some friends, ever faithfull to Brullemail stallions, bought life breeding fees of HAND IN GLOVE. He already had his Fan Club ! " Origins
HAND IN GLOVE possesses a particularly interesting pedigree :coming out of the top family line of Nearco, his father BEST TURN had also produced XX winners in CSIW (MVP in USA) & CDI (Shinning Moment in USA).
BEST TURN a tall and strong, dark brown thoroughbred ,was stationed at Calumet Farm. He had been a very good race horse between 3&5yrs old, winning in total 15 victory's out of 28 flat races and $ 270 000. TURN TO the father of HAND IN GLOVE, imported from Ireland, was also the grandson of the foundation stallion NEARCO, who we often find in the pedigrees of sporthorse thoroughbreds like LUCKY BOY (Holland), COUNT IVOR & RUBLOFF in France.
This family line by the fathers has produced stars such as Damuraz (OG 1980), Volunter (OG 1980) ; MISS BETTY the dam of HAND IN GLOVE, 2yr old winner is the daughter of the famous Americain star Buckpasser (best US 2yr old, 3yr old Champion,and Horse of the Year at 4yrs old ) a horse well known for being solid and keeping his cool.
MISS BETTY has produced 4 classic winners (racing Gr. I & II) and 2 stallions, Red Attack and Tom Buck. She is the 3/4 sister to Settlement Day, father of the thoroughbred FRENCH BUFFET winner in CSI and champion of Chillie 1997, stallion now in Holland and used by the Haras de Brullemail.

HAND IN GLOVE has had an extraordinary sporting career ; Well placed in racing at 2yrs old, then winning in Dressage ( level St Georges) until 8yrs, he started in CSO at 9yrs .In 3 seasons, he managed to get to the level of World Cup Grand Prix CSO !

He started breeding in 1983 in USA where he covered 2 or 3 mares per year in the beginning and up to 25 during his last year there in 1991. Abuelo materno: ALMEALME, nacido en 1966 continua destacandose en los últimos tiempos fundamentalmente por sus hijos Animo padre de Robin Hood W y Ranino, de Joyau d´Or , de Alme Star, como abuelo materno de Seldana di Campalto y en los grandes padrillos Jalisco , Quidam de Revel , Ahorn Z y Galoubet considerado su mejor hijo Campeón del Mundo por equipos con Gilles Betran de Balanda. Galoubet ha sido padre del gran padrillo Baloubet du Rouet (madre por Starter) y de Quick Star (madre por Nithatd). Su padre Ibrahim era el padrillo más famoso en el Stud Saint LO´ en los años 60 y 70. Tuvo más de 30 padrillos y decenas de ganadores internacionales. La crÃa de Ibrahim con las hijas del Ultimate también pura sangre produjeron excelentes caballos, ALME es el mejor ejemplo, entre otros como: DIGNE ESPOIR (KIBRAHIM), DOUBLE ESPOIR, ELF III, QUASTOR, DYNAMIQUE, UKASE, TANAEL, COR DE CHASSE in France, FANTASTIQUE, HEDJAZ in Belgium, VIVEUR, QUE D'ESPOIR (Switzerland) ALME con 3 años ya destaca como semental en Saint LO´. Comienza su carrera deportiva con el franco americano Fred Graham. Hasta 1975 tiene más de 500 hijos bien considerados en Francia.
En 1974 nacen unos hijos de ALME memorables como el gran Jalisco , cuya madre era Tanagra hija del mejor purasangre para deporte de todos los tiempos Furioso ; Joyau d´Or (madre por Vin d´ Honneur, que era de ascendencia de Orange Peel xx), olimpico en Los Angeles; I Love You (madre por Nykio), ganador de la Final de la Copa del Mundo en 1983 y 2do en 1984 con el estadounidense Norman Dello Joio.
A los 8 años pasa a Zangersheide de Leon Melchior y se convierte en el gran semental de la Z. Son muchisimos los productos renombrados que de el hay en Belgica, pero la más conocida es Ratina , que si bien su padre era Ramiro , su madre Argentina provenÃa de ALME . Aerobic (madre por Gothard), finalista de la Copa del Mundo; Zalme , olimpico en Seul, donde también lo fue Jalisco ; Ahorn Z, hijo de Heureka la segunda madre de Ratina, Aloube (madre por Gothard); Athlet (madre por Gothard); Alesix , cuya madre era la internacional Whone. En holsteiner posiblemente el más importante sea Acord II , hijo de Ahorn Z .
En Holanda, como hijo de ALME tenemos al más que reconocido Animo , madre por Amor que fue el progenitor entre otros de Akteur y de Zuidpool (padre de Tinka´s Boy ).
